Dr. Julio César Acuña, guest of honor to the Training Days: "New Challenges of Internal Control and Internal Accounting Control" in the city of Barranquilla.

BOGOTÁ, D.C., July 2, 2014.Dr. Julio César Acuña, Director of the Central Board of Accountants (UAE JCC) was the special guest to the Training Days: "New Control Challenges and Internal Accounting Control", academic event organized by the General Accounting Council of the Nation with the support of the Administrative Department of the Public Service (DAFP) and held in the Country Club of the city of Barranquilla on July 2 and 3, 2014.

In front of an auditorium of 1600 attendees Dr. Acuña referred to the new structure of the Accounting In the wake of the process in which the Colombian State is committed to the world community, for this reason the Government of President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón develops the convergence plan to implement financial information and the assurance of this under international standards , this implies that the structure of the Central Board of Accountants and the rules governing the exercise of the Public Accounting Office have a regulatory update.

The Training Days had expert professionals in the field, who discussed the upgrade processes of the Standard Internal Control Model (MECI), internal control systems and the challenges for its operation; Control in Internal Accounting Control and methodological tools for risk management, among other topics.

Dr. Pedro Luis Bohórquez Ramírez, Accountant General of the Nation concluded the academic day of the first day with his presentation on the impact of the International Standards of Internal Accounting Control, regulated by the General Accounting Council of the Nation.

This academic event seeks to contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality of financial, economic, social and environmental information for purposes relevant to internal, political, fiscal and disciplinary control of the State.
