Recognition of the pioneers of the Public Accounting in the country

At the session of the Disciplinary Court on March 5, 2015 at the UAE Central Board of Accountants, the Public Accountants Régulo Millán Puentes, José Manuel Guevara Galvis and Otto González Alonso, were recognized for their professional and academic career for the emergence of the Public Accounting In Colombia. The ceremony consisted of exaltation, through an administrative act promulgated by Dr. Pedro Luis Bohórquez Ramírez, Accountant General of the Nation.

The aforementioned Resolution highlights the professional trajectory of those honored for being an example of life, for its sense of belonging and invaluable contributions for the new generations, in the consolidation of the profession of the Public Accounting in Colombia.

Dr. Régulo Millán Puentes was founder of the National Faculty of Accounting and Economic Sciences of Colombia and contributed to the creation of the Central Board of Accountants, created by Decree 2373 of 1956, in which he served as President from May 23, 1958 to November 26 of the same year; he was subsequently the Secretary-General. Dr. José Manuel Guevara Galvis served as chair of the JCC between July 29, 1981 and September 7, 1982. Dr. Otto González Alonso was President of the Colombian Academy of Qualified Accountants, a precursor and leader for the artist's day to be created in Colombia.
